Job Summary Provides skilled professional nursing services to students with medically complex health needs. Analyzes the total health care of students with chronic illnesses/disorders, and performs designated routine non-invasive and invasive procedures as established by physician orders. Attends to any students health needs as indicated in the School Health Services Manual. Essential Functions 1. Performs routine and prescribed invasive and non-invasive procedures including, but not limited to; gastric tube feedings; breathing treatments; diabetic glucose monitoring; urinary catheterizations; and tracheostomy care and suctioning. 2. Identifies and monitors student health status through needs assessments, screening procedures, examinations, observations, and analyses. 3. Establishes and maintains appropriate medical records, logs, indices, and schedules on daily and school year diagnoses, care plans, procedures, treatments, monitoring, adverse reactions, and notifications. 4. Provides basic first aid and attends to student health needs as indicated in the School Health Services Manual. 5. Distributes/administers prescription and non-prescription medication to students in accordance with applicable laws and directives, following guidelines described in school health policy manual. 6. Assists the student, school personnel, and parents in understanding and coping with a student’s disability or condition. 7. Designs intervention in conjunction with other health and education team members to prevent further disability. 8. Facilitate Telehealth appointments for students. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Probation: Six (6) months Qualifications Open Requirements: Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Florida State Board of Nursing; OR graduation from a School of Registered Nursing meeting the minimum requirements of the Florida State Board of Nursing with authorization from the Florida State Board of Nursing to practice as a RN in accordance with Florida Statutes. Overview Job Duties An Advanced Practice Provider III (APP III) is a direct patient care provider licensed in the State of Florida and/or Georgia and provides medical services to patients as defined by their scope of practice and under the supervision of a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida/Georgia. Clinical Area: Subspecialty Outpatient and/or Inpatient Setting, may perform procedures/consults, less than 50% time spent in OR, and/or works in the NICU. Monitors and manages invasive and/or medical devices and placement of devices within scope of practice. Rochester Regional Health offers a full range of Dialysis treatment options to patients with chronic kidney disease. We treat adults from people from multiple backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities. We care for patients temporarily, either their kidney function recovers or they return to their home dialysis center, move or get a transplant; or some are with us on an ongoing basis. Patients have dialysis treatment anywhere from 2-3 days a week, from 3 to 5 hours each treatment. Our staffing model consists of RN’s, LPN’s and Techs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts and documents a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment. Assists in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the RN. Complies with the evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines of the department. Acts in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards and policies. Maintains clinical currency by pursuing continuing education opportunities. Administers IVP medications specific to dialysis patient population. Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments using multiple access sites including AV fistulas, AV grafts and Central Venous Catheters (CVC). Clean and redress CVC skin sites. Draw Blood from CVC.
