The LPN Inpatient provides practical nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, supporting patient care delivery, treatment implementation, and care coordination. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care across the inpatient setting. The LPN Inpatient Provides practical nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Participates in the nursing process, including data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Contributes to the development and implementation of individualized interdisciplinary plans of care. Identifies patient, family, and caregiver educational needs and incorporates education into the plan of care. Implements prescribed treatments and therapeutic interventions. Administers medications in accordance with provider orders and scope of practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate care. Advocates for patients and supports their rights, providing psychological, social, and cultural support. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Supports performance improvement initiatives and contributes to quality outcomes. Participates in orientation and development of new staff. Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to service excellence. Supports organizational mission, vision, and values and complies with all policies and procedures. What We Require: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required. Experience: None. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. De-escalation training required within 4 months of hire for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health roles and must be maintained thereafter. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions. Additional experience or certifications may be required based on service line. Partners with the RN in collecting data, planning, implementing and evaluating patient/resident care. ​The LPN (inpatient) Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served. Communicates frequently with team members, ancillary departments and physicians. Contributes to the development of the patient/resident database and interdisciplinary plan of care. Identifies patient/resident/family/caregiver educational needs, incorporates education into plan of care and documents. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health: de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward.
