Documents pertinent information regarding care delivered in designated areas of patient’s record using the electronic medical records. Responsibilities may include: Giving shift report to on coming staff Provide clinical/supervisory oversight to the unit during a shift Delegate assignments to team assigned to shift Audit/assure completion of admission or discharges during shift with the RN’s cos-sign Attend rounds (wound, physician etc) If acting in the capacity of charge nurse, may develop patient care assignments (appointing other staff, RN, LPN or PCA to implement an established care plan for a designated period of work time), create schedules, and contribute to performance evaluations and educating other staff on HSL policy and procedure.
