Overview For Inpatient assignment, assists the attending physician in the care and management of patients on Inpatient units within the hospital. This includes making patient rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. Will make frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients and direct care accordingly. May also see patients in the clinic environment. For Emergency Dept. assignment assists the Emergency Department physicians in the comprehensive medical care of the patient, in the emergency department and the chest pain observation unit and in any role the supervisory physician deems appropriate and consistent with applicable law, hospital regulation and licensure and clinical privileges. The incumbent will consult with the supervisory physician to determine the most appropriate care for patients. Acute Care ARNP or PA Required. For Clinic assignment, under supervision of an attending physician this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients which will include but not be limited to taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests, diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and providing assistance to the patient regarding a plan of treatment and education. Other duties may include sharing call hours, phone coverage, and seeing admitted patients within the hospital. For ICU assignment, assists the attending ICU physician in the care and management of patients. This includes making patient rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. Overview This position is fully in the ambulatory or outpatient setting, with no inpatient responsibilities. The clinician will play an essential role on a multidisciplinary team, assisting in the delivery of care for patients undergoing care transitions (e.g., from the emergency department or inpatient stay to home), managing follow-up for chronic diseases, and closing health maintenance gaps. The role involves providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic health care services to patients, including but not limited to: taking medical histories, performing medication reconciliation, conducting physical examinations, ordering and coordinating lab tests and diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and guiding patients on treatment plans and health education. Specific responsibilities include conducting post-discharge or transitional care management visits, Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, and chronic disease management visits. This work is conducted under the direction of UFHP and ambulatory care leadership and will interface with interdisciplinary teams across the health system. Patient interactions will primarily occur through telemedicine visits and telephone outreach (with the potential to see patients in-person one day per week), requiring strong electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency and excellent telemedicine communication skills with both patients and team members. Overview Overview The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a highly motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) team. Under the supervision of attending physicians, this position will provide comprehensive, specialized care to patients with high-risk pregnancies, including those with maternal comorbidities, fetal anomalies, multiple gestations, and other complex obstetric conditions. The MFM APP will play a critical role in both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting the management of medically and obstetrically complex patients through detailed assessments, diagnostic interpretation, care coordination, and patient education. Responsibilities include performing history and physical examinations, developing and implementing care plans, assisting with procedures, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary care team. The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and academic activities within a leading academic health system. The MFM APP also participates in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and academic endeavors within a leading academic health system Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within the health system. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current and clear license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
