Job Description Part-time temporary position, teach or assist in teaching one or more courses or clinical per academic term. Implements optimal learning experiences for students. Contributes to the college’s operational effectiveness through guided supervision of students’ clinical and didactic experiences under the direction of course faculty. Reports directly to the Dean, Nursing. Responsibilities Implements clinical/simulation/skills lab and/or didactic learning experiences to facilitate students meeting clinical and/or course outcomes. Teaches assigned didactic courses for duration of academic semester. Ensure learning assessment goals and outcomes are met. Work in collaboration with associated course faculty when appropriate. Teaches assigned clinical/lab experiences Supervises students’ clinical/skills lab experiences to promote optimum student learning as directed by course faculty. Communicates clinical objectives and orients students to the assigned clinical site, as applicable Interprets the role of the student in the clinical area, including clinical outcomes, to managers/nursing personnel. Implements clinical teaching strategies as designed by course faculty, based on current education and practice based research. Provides both informal and formal feedback to students regarding clinical performance, utilizing objective, evaluative criteria. Utilizes evaluation surveys to determine effectiveness of clinical experience. Maintains expertise in and requisite requirements for the assigned area of clinical responsibility, teaching and professional nursing practice. Assists with course orientation, as applicable. Role models professional growth and development. Maintains active licensure(s) as required. Maintains professional and legal standards in relation to client care, appearance and conduct. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Please describe any specialized knowledge or skills, which are REQUIRED to perform the position duties. EDUCATION: Completion of an approved professional nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in the OAC is required. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Experience of at least two years in the practice of professional nursing as a registered nurse. Teaching experience preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: Current, valid licensure as an RN in Ohio, BLS certification required.

Job Description Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of physician. Travel required Responsibilities Maintains patient flow during clinic hours. Documents review of systems; measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respirations, blood pressure, weight and height (see Appendix A for specifics); updates past and current medical, social and family history; reviews medications and updates medication list at each visit. Correctly records patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). May assist in training of new employees. Prepares patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing to make certain that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports and other medical records necessary to help the physician care for the patient are in the patient’s chart. Accesses and navigates websites or calls outside facilities to obtain necessary information. May act as Super User for Electronic Medical Record. Refills medications and pre-authorizes medications including communicating with the patient, pharmacy, or insurance company as needed to complete the task. Maintains recording of patient samples and other medications and disposes expired medications. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients; maintains clean, fully supplied exam rooms. Orders medical supplies as needed. Completes patient assistance paperwork/requests as needed. Obtains pertinent medical information from patients to facilitate medical decision making per specific office protocol procedures. Returns calls as needed. Responds to MyChart as needed. Works in-baskets, daily work flow logs, and work queues in EMR/Practice Management system. May coordinate/oversee work queues in office. Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, checks-in and out patients, and completes pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed. Operates EKG, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests as needed and other clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements with the medical assistant role. Demonstrates comprehension and support of quality measures and patient experience.
