More about our team Our general surgery staff consists of expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians all dedicated to performing successful operations and promoting comfortable healing and recovery. Our most common surgical services consist of endo, ortho, and pain procedures. Due to the high volume of outpatient procedures, our surgery staff do not work weekends or holidays. 7 Pre/Op Infusion Rooms 2 OR Suites 1 Endo Suite 1 PACU Bay How you'll contribute Our Surgery Float RN's provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a Surgery Float RN you will: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Documents patient care provided. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures. Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure. Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care. Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment. Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs. Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process. Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed. Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
