Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient�s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.6. Responsibilities The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who delivers, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The Staff Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served. Non-exempt position. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: CPR/AED/First Aid certification, non violent physical crisis intervention completion & appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam.
