DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the Cath Lab Supervisor, utilizes experience in critical care as a registered nurse to provide care for seriously ill patients that are in radiology department. Is able to provide patient care activities to include adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. Assists in upkeep of emergency equipment. Responsible for the proper utilization of Radiology Information System as described in the RIS Policy and Procedure. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Authorized to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience. DEFINITION: Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Ancillary Services, coordinates and implements the infection control policies, supervises the multiple facets of the infection control program for Comanche County Memorial Hospital by providing an environment that is optimally safe from increasing the incidence of unnecessary complication, such as infections, while a patient is in the hospital; a visitor in the hospital or an employee of the hospital by interacting directly with the various departments in the hospital as well as the physician and reports to the Infection Control Committee on the infection surveillance, prevention, and control program that is under his oversight. Patients cared for/interacted with are infants, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatric. EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree. Must have a current license as registered nurse. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two years with no less than 800 hours worked in the practice of Infection Control. Prefer certification by the Certification Board in Infection Control (CBIC).
