This Team is interprofessional representing expert nurses, physicians, mid-levels and support personal providing compassionate and personalized care to every patient who comes through our doors. Our Emergency Department has 65 private patient bays, a dedicated waiting room for our pediatric patients, and dedicated space for our behavioral health patients. In addition, this new layout has allowed for a new patient care model designed to provide high-quality, efficient care and reduce unnecessary wait times with the addition of dedicated Radiology space within the ED. We provide both adult and pediatric emergency care, Level III trauma center, highest-ranked Stroke Center and the first hospital on the North Shore to offer advanced care for sexual assault patients. As a member of the Emergency Department Team, the ED RN is responsible for managing all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care. The RN has the responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care. Our department leadership is very visible on the unit, offers an open-door policy and transparent conversations. The front-line staff are invaluable with feedback when workflow or standard work changes are necessary for better outcomes.
