We Are Hiring: Registered Nurse (RN)- ICU- Waukesha Memorial Hospital- 0.6 FTE- 12 Hr Nights Waukesha Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit is a 24 bed, multi-specialty unit including cardiovascular, neuro-surgical, medical respiratory, sepsis, drug overdoses, suicide attempts, a variety of other surgical, and trauma. This team works with adult and some pediatric patients. The ICU intensive care unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital has earned a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). The award recognizes unit caregivers for successfully improving patient outcomes and aligning unit practices with AACN standards. Units that receive this three-year award meet national criteria consistent with other national quality awards, such as the National Quality Healthcare Award. Waukesha Memorial is one of only two hospitals in Wisconsin to earn the silver-level Beacon award. (2013). Schedule Details: This 0.6 FTE commits to 24 hours per week of 12 hour night shifts 1900-0730. The candidate is required to work every third weekend and alternating holidays. At least 1 year of ICU experience preferred. This is not a seasonal or temporary position. What You Will Do: The Clinical Nurse is a competent practitioner who integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the care of patients and families. Care is delivered using a deliberate, systematic approach and practice is guided by increasing awareness of patterns of patient responses in recurrent situations. These nurses demonstrate a mastery of most technical skills and begin to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus as they provide professional nursing care within clinical areas/ campuses as required by staffing matrices. These nurses also supervise and direct delegated nursing acts commensurate with educational preparation and demonstrated abilities of the person supervised. We are seeking compassionate and professional staff to join the medical unit of choice in Southeastern Wisconsin. Consisting of 53 beds, the employees of 5MEDICAL serve a diverse population of patients such as those with respiratory diseases, infectious processes, complications of chronic conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, renal failure, diabetes, alcohol/opiate withdrawal and patients that require medical evaluation before transitioning to other care environments. Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital/facility, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the Board of Nursing of that State Other Job Functions Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required Perform additional duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree, required; BSN, preferred Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required 2+ years full-time RN experience in ER or other comparable experience, required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association, required; ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification; TNCC preferred Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Pennsylvania Candidates : Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
