Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The RN - Education Coordinator works collaboratively with the management team and division education department in identifying educational and/or learning needs of the assigned area(s). Facilitates, instructs and evaluates educational programs in support of professional growth, maintaining competence and compliance with regulatory & policy changes. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Maintains and ensures appropriate documentation for learning episodes or educational processes. Assists in the orientation process and program for staff. Continuously evaluates and modifies educational processes to meet the needs of the learner and organization. Utilizes the principles of adult learning, cultural diversity and learning styles in planning educational opportunities. Plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Bachelor’s Degree required or must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with graduation within three years. BSN preferred. Two to three years of progressively more responsible neonatal/pediatric nursing experience preferred. Demonstrates leadership skills, excellent communication skills and strong critical thinking skills necessary. RN certification preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. Nurse Manager I

Overview In accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the EVMS Medical Group and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Hofheimer Hall (HH) Generalist Nurse Manager functions under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration with the Generalist Division Director, HH Generalist Practice Manager, and Department Administrator to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Generalist Obstetrics and Gynecology practice. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing clinical workflows, staffing, and regulatory compliance. This position provides direct leadership and supervision to the clinical team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Nurse Manager partners with providers and administrative leadership to optimize clinical operations, support quality improvement initiatives, enhance the patient experience, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and evidence-based clinical practices. The incumbent also oversees staff recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and professional development to maintain a highly engaged and effective clinical team. Partners with providers and administrative leadership to support departmental goals, quality initiatives, and organizational priorities. Clinical Staff Management, Leadership & Development (35%) Provides direct supervision and leadership for HH Generalist clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants. Manages clinical staff scheduling, assignments, and resource allocation to maintain appropriate staffing levels and support operational needs. Leads recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, competency validation, ongoing education, coaching, and professional development of clinical team members. Conducts performance evaluations and addresses performance concerns in collaboration with the HH Generalist Practice Manager, Division Director and Human Resources. Promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Quality, Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance (15%) Supports EVMS Medical Group quality standards and patient safety initiatives related to clinical operations and direct patient care. Implements and monitors clinical practices to ensure compliance with organizational policies, evidence-based standards, OSHA, CLIA, infection prevention requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Ensures appropriate clinical documentation practices and monitors electronic health record documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical record standards. Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures adherence to HIPAA and all EVMS/EVMS Medical Group privacy policies. Supports emergency response processes and assists providers with patient care needs as appropriate. Resource Management & Clinical Support (15%) Maintains appropriate levels of medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical supplies and ensures clinical areas are safe, organized, and prepared for patient care. Provides direct patient care support as needed, including patient triage, medication education, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, and addressing patient care concerns. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications and Skills Licensed Virginia Register Nurse (RN) (or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with equivalent education and/or experience) is required. Three (3) years of supervisor/charge nurse experience is required.
