Assists Director of Nursing with providing medications, treatments, diets, rehabilitation and restorative care to patients in accordance with physician’s orders and the patient’s individual needs. Assists Director of Nursing with reporting problems to the Administrator, conducting daily patient rounds, and initiating corrective action as necessary. Assists Director of Nursing with directing and implementation of educational programs, quality assurance program and infection control program. Assists Director of Nursing with establishing open lines of communication with consultants and consistently takes follow up action on recommendations. Assists Director of Nursing with consistently making recommendations of level of care determinations based on physician’s documentation and plan of care. Assists Director of Nursing with coordinating the care planning/MDS process and committee meetings as necessary. Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication. Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System. Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System. SKILLS AND ABILITIES A minimum, two year(s) of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care Nursing Center. Should have training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Should have education, training, and/or experience in one of the following: rehabilitative nursing, geriatric nursing and/or Psychosocial nursing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A RN nursing degree from an accredited college or university. A Georgia RN License SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., physicians, nurses, lactation consultants) to develop and evaluate educational content. Quality Improvement & Compliance Leads the implementation of evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives, including: Hypertension in Pregnancy (HTN) Optimizing Newborn Nutrition Cardiac Conditions in Obstetrical Care (CCOC) Ensures compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and current clinical guidelines. Develops and evaluates quality metrics for perinatal education programs. Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative ( GaPQC) Initiative Implementation Implements GaPQC maternal and neonatal quality improvement (QI) initiatives. Collects and submits structure and process measure data (quarterly for maternal, monthly for neonatal). Participates in GaPQC coaching sessions, office hours, and collaborative learning events. Completes the GaPQC Planning, Implementation, and Sustainability Assessment. Submits presentations for GaPQC webinars or office hours. Operational & Financial Oversight Monitors departmental resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment, for cost-effectiveness. Prepares and analyzes departmental statistics, including class attendance, evaluations, and budget forecasts. Develops proposals for new or expanded programs with associated cost implications. Collaboration & Community Engagement Maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinates with community partners to enhance satisfaction and program reach. Ensures timely entry of class offerings into the Advocate Health Care Community Health Event Calendar. Qualifications: Education ( minimum education level and field of study) Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent nursing credential required; must be sufficient to support and maintain active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Certification / Registration / License ( any certification, registration, license required to perform the job followed by the governing body) Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state in which the individual will be executing duties, or a valid multistate license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). The role requires frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout clinical and educational spaces, as well as the ability to bend, reach, squat, kneel, and transition between positions to support operational and instructional activities. The individual must possess sufficient strength and mobility to assist with patient handling when providing direct clinical support, including repositioning, transfers, and movement of equipment or supplies, consistent with safe patient handling practices and organizational policy. For patient lifts exceeding 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist, patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting and movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. The role requires adequate visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity to observe patients, operate equipment, and perform assigned responsibilities.
