House Nurse Coordinator

Overview The House Nurse Coordinator (HNC) role is a Registered Nurse, who under the direction of the Community Chief Nursing Officer, represents and serves as a liaison between the administrative team and employees, physicians, patients, families, and customers. To provide general supervision in the hospital and to facilitate communication among employees, patients, families, physicians and administration. Additional key functions include but are not limited to: support and intervene as needed to solve patient care concerns and employee concerns; serve as the bed placement coordinator for patient placement when needed, assist department leaders to adjust daily staffing to census and coordinate ongoing continuity of care in those departments in the absence of the direct supervisor. Knowledge of sound nursing practice, overall hospital administration, emergency management, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, negotiation, and delegation are essential to effective performance.
