Intensive Care Unit The ICU at the downtown campus specializes in the care of the moderate to complex medical, surgical and cardiovascular diagnosis using a multidisciplinary collaborative team approach. The majority of our diagnosis include but not limited to respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, CVA, CHF, AMI with PCI, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, overdose, recovery from general or orthopedic surgery. Intensive therapeutic modalities that include inotropic/vasoactive medications, mechanical ventilation, CRRT, IABP, Impella and transvenous pacemakers Position Responsibilities Incorporates scientific, behavioral and humanistic principles for application to clinical practice. Utilizes, adheres and supports departmental standards and practice guidelines. Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings. Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response. Changing Lives. ® Burn Treatment Center And Intermediate Care Unit (8 JCP) This is a 17-bed unit equipped with a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room for burn/wound dressing care, a pediatric playroom and rehabilitation gym. The unit cares for both adult and pediatric burn patients as well as an adult trauma population requiring intermediate monitoring care. The unit has both inpatient and outpatient (Burn Clinic) facilities. Our staff also provide burn outreach and education and annually host a Burn Camp for burn patient survivors. The American College of Surgeons designated our unit as a Level I Burn Center since 1996. The University of Iowa Health Care department of Radiology is seeking a Staff Nurse to assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. The Adult Acute Care Unit is part of UI Health Care's Medical Surgical Services (MSS) division. The Adult Acute Care Unit is a 30-bed, medical surgical unit. We serve a variety of patient populations, including the Family Medicine service along with specialized surgical patients. The surgical patients include otolaryngology (ENT), oral surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. We are able to provide our patients with all private rooms, which allows for a more comfortable experience for both patients and their families. We have a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team that helps to provide excellent patient care to all patients on our unit. Our goal is to provide each patient an individualized care plan, and provide them the support and care they need and deserve. Percent of Time: 60% Schedule: Weekend Option Location: Iowa City, Iowa Salary: $61,183.00 minimum at 100% effort to commensurate *This does not include differentials.
