Responsibilities The Pediatric Transport Nurse is a registered, licensed nurse in Washington and Oregon who, working collaboratively with the respiratory therapist, is responsible for the care and quality of care delivered to patients being transported to Randall Children’s Hospital and other designated hospitals. The Pediatric Transport Nurse functions under the supervision of the Transport Medical Director, an attending physician, and approved institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines during inter-facility transport. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The Pediatric Transport Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: Three years of registered nursing neonatal and/or pediatric intensive care clinical experience within the last five years. May consider those with a combination of experience in adult ICU, dedicated Children’s emergency department, and PICU or NICU setting. Experience in neonatal and/or pediatric transport preferred. Other: Maximum weight for a crew member is 250 lbs.This weight INCLUDES the flight suit/uniform, jackets, vests, helmet, boots/shoes, and any personal clothing and/or equipment typically carried onboard the aircraft. Responsibilities Provides support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations, including: Staffing and scheduling Orientation and onboarding Education and competency assessment Budget monitoring Establishing and maintaining patient care standards Promoting evidence-based practice Implementing quality improvement initiatives Acts as a key resource and backup support for unit staff and departmental operations Facilitates departmental workflow in collaboration with the Charge Nurse Serves as the primary resource for staff and the organization in the Manager’s absence Reports directly to the Nurse Manager and assists in overall department management Qualifications Education: Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required. MSN/MN preferred. Experience: Relevant clinical nursing experience at proficient to expert level of practice required with two years supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience in health care. Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity management, workflow planning and staff development. Proficient in use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office applications. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required. Pay Range USD $70.21 - USD $104.61 /Hr.
