Department Overview The pediatric emergency department at Children’s Minnesota St. Paul hospital is a 32-bed, Level IV trauma center that specializes in the assessment and stabilization of acute pediatric illness, injury and trauma. Our multidisciplinary care team of more than 150 pediatric professionals cares for over 45,000 patients a year, and can treat just about anything. The St. Paul emergency department offers 24-hour access and has some of the shortest wait times in the country. The emergency department has all private rooms, two resuscitation rooms, and is staffed with board-certified, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and certified pediatric emergency registered nurses. Our care team has access to cutting-edge technology, intensive and medical-surgical units, and specialists to provide the best care and outcomes for our patients possible, all in a child-focused, emergency environment. . Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION. Education Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. * Current Minnesota RN licensure. * Current BLS certification. * One (1) year pediatric nursing experience in a hospital setting. * Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment. * Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or obtained during orientation. * Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required or obtained during orientation. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. Department Overview Our neonatal program is the largest in the Midwest. We provide the full scope of care for infants needing intensive care. At the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Children’s Minnesota St. Paul Campus, our inter-disciplinary team of over 500 professionals is dedicated to the care of babies born prematurely, those with birth defects, genetic disorders, medical disorders and any baby needing surgery. We care for babies requiring complex care, including hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, and maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure. We are a part of the Mother Baby Center in St. Paul at United Hospital which includes high-risk delivery services. The Children’s St. Paul NICU is a 62-bed unit providing level 2 and level 3 neonatal care, which allows for continuity of care from admission to discharge. Our team balances a highly technical skill set with a family-centered approach.
