Position Summary The RN Lung Cancer Nodule Navigator is responsible for coordinating the care of patients with pulmonary nodules and suspected or confirmed lung cancer. Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Neuro Care Department - Weekend Program

Purpose The Weekend Program was developed to offer employees an alternative scheduled that will suit their individual needs while also meeting the staffing needs of the hospital which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 365 days a year. Definitions Weekend Employee-works 24 hours each weekend. Additional $10 per hour Weekend Program 12-hour shifts during the hours of Friday at 7:00PM to Monday at 7:00AM. Guidelines The weekend employee will be paid ten dollars/hour in addition to their base rate. The weekend employee will work every weekend. If a holiday falls on a weekend, the weekend employee will be required to work the holiday. Weekend employees will work 49 out of 52 weekends a year. The weekend employee may be assigned two non-consecutive shifts. A weekend employee may work non-weekend shifts beyond their required 24 hours. Non-weekend shifts will be paid at the standard scale rate for the position along with any applicable shift differentials and extra shift pay, including weekdays and holidays. Hours worked outside of the Weekend Program will be paid at the weekday rate; this included orientation, training and education requirements. Paid Time Off (PTO) An employee that transfers into the weekend program may carry forward up to 40 hours of available PTO. PTO in excess of 40 hours will be paid out at the employee’s current pre-weekend rate upon transfer. Upon transfer the employee will accrue PTO at the same accrual rate as non-weekend employees. Benefits-Weekend employees are considered PT and are eligible for PT benefits. Once a weekend employee transfers out of the program, they will not be eligible to return for 6 months; or at their manager’s discretion. Job Summary The nursing assistant will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Job duties may include providing for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals. Nursing assistants will also assist patients with personal hygiene and will provide for personal hygiene in patients who are unable to assist themselves. Nursing assistants will provide patient comfort, assist in transporting patients, answering patient call lights, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients, and reporting observations to the patient’s Nurse. The nursing assistant will document actions completed as appropriate. Follow the policies and procedures of the organization. Protect patient information. Nursing assistants will update their knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Requires the knowledge, technique, and communication skills to therapeutically meet the needs of assigned patients. Must be able to identify each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care. Job Specification Minimum Education Required A high school graduate or equivalent. Minimum Experience Required 1 year Medical-Surgical preferred. Licensure/Certification Required Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire). Skills A commitment to service excellence and performance improvement. Excellent interpersonal skills, with legible penmanship and computer knowledge. Possess the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, communicate with RN/GN staff to report changes in patient's conditions. Ability to provide direct patient care to the Med-Surg patient. Shifts Rotation 3 - 12's
