Overview Our newly reopened Oncology Unit is a 16-bed unit dedicated to our patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses. Nurses in this area have a 1:5 ratio and specialize in the administration of chemotherapy. Our multidisciplinary team of oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff are not only skilled and knowledgeable, but are also deeply compassionate while working together to bring patients with cancer specialized nursing care. Overview Our Pre-Admission Testing Unit provides pre-procedural assessment, evaluation, diagnostic testing, and education for patients once they have been scheduled for a procedure by their physician’s office. The PAT team communicates with and works collaboratively with physicians and anesthesia providers to optimize patients prior to their procedure. PAT is located on the first floor of the Medical Tower. The unit is staffed with a team of RNs, CRNPs,and Perioperative Technicians. Leadership is comprised of a Nurse Manager, Team Leader and a designated Charge Nurse. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm. Overview Dialysis is located on the forth floor of DCH Regional campus and the main floor at DCH Northport campus. Our hours at the Regional campus are Monday-Saturday 6:30-1900 with call taken on Sunday and after hours. Clinical Informaticist, RN

Overview The Clinical Informaticist is responsible to collaborate with operational leaders, patient care teams (Quality, Medication Safety, PI, etc.), as well as IT and other Informatics teams to develop, implement, and coordinate standardization of information systems policies and procedures to promote the safe, efficient, and optimal use of the information systems. The Clinical Informaticist will collaborate with the Clinical Informatics Manager and CCIO to coordinate and facilitate workflow and process improvements in relation to IT systems in order to enhance the effectiveness of clinical applications. Overview The Care Manager works collaboratively with interdisciplinary and healthcare team members, both internal and external to the organization to facilitate patient care through effective utilization and monitoring of healthcare resources and assumes a leadership role to achieve safe discharge planning along with desired clinical and financial outcomes. Overview Our Pre-Admission Testing Unit provides pre-procedural assessment, evaluation, diagnostic testing, and education for patients once they have been scheduled for a procedure by their physician’s office. The PAT team communicates with and works collaboratively with physicians and anesthesia providers to optimize patients prior to their procedure. PAT is located on the first floor of the Medical Tower. The unit is staffed with a team of RNs, CRNPs,and Perioperative Technicians. Leadership is comprised of a Nurse Manager, Team Leader and a designated Charge Nurse. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm. Patient experience and patient safety are our top priorities embedded in all the services we provide. Responsibilities Plans, coordinates and directs quality, compassionate care by maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and creating positive therapeutic relationships with patients/families. Provides leadership to other team members by articulating and delegating expected standards of care, supervising and encouraging team members, and supporting their contributions. Supervises LPNs, PCAs, PCAs/US, US, ED Tech, ED Clerical/PCA, CRSS and OTs. Assesses condition on each assigned patient on admission and on an ongoing basis to include but not limited to the patient’s physical condition, psychological status, social status, spiritual and cultural needs, pain assessment/management, nutritional and functional status, developmental or age related factors, and discharge planning needs. Plans, provides, and documents patient and/or significant other education based on physical, behavioral, psychological, developmental, and age-related factors, after identifying barriers to learning. Evaluates and regularly reevaluates patient care; coordinates care planning with patient, family, providers and other disciplines to achieve patient-centered outcomes. Assigns and delegates nursing care to team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the capabilities of the team members. Applies safety principles when performing care and accurately documents observations, care provided and changes in care plan. Participates in transition rounds, care planning/problem identification and team shift reports. Assists in performance improvement (PI) activities by serving on PI teams as warranted, assisting with PI measures and supporting and implementing changes necessary for improvement. Qualifications Current Alabama RN licensure. Associate degree in Nursing required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required. Professional Nursing Certifcation preferred. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
