The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. Job Summary The 9th floor of the D. Dan and Betty Kan Health Care Pavilion will be a 48-bed acute and moderate care unit providing care to many patient populations, including: Adult surgical patients require postoperative care after undergoing major reconstructive and microvascular procedures, as well as taking care of neurosurgical procedures and conditions. It is the home unit for Otolaryngology, Oral Maxillofacial, Neuro/Ortho surgical, and Vascular services. Adult acute and moderate care patients who have recently undergone total Laryngectomy, tracheostomy patients, glossectomy, and other procedures focusing on Head and Neck Cancer, Vascular care, TAVR, and Carotid Endarterectomy. Required Qualifications* Current Michigan RN license for all candidates that have passed the NCLEX. GN applicants will be considered for this position. Additional Information TEMPORARY FLOAT NURSE GUIDELINES All CSR employees are required to attend an annual educational Blitz to complete required UM mandatories and compentencies (BCLS every 2 yrs, Cardiac Arrest and maintain all other applicable certifications). Temporary Float Nurses are expected to work all shifts requested unless no work is available. It is the intention that all Temps will float to all units within the cluster speciality. A Temporary Nurse should work 32 hours per 4 week schedule block. You may request four , eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) hour shifts in advance. Temporary Nurses in the CSR Clusters are NOT required to work weekends or holidays. Temporary Nurses will participate in a newly designed, streamlined, onboarding/orientation program. However, the progression of orientation will be dependent upon clinical competency, staffing needs of the individual units, and the number of hours worked by the Temporary RN.
