The Integrated Call Center is seeking a Staff Nurse at 80% time. The Staff Nurse provides support via telephone and electronic communication forums to UI Healthcare patients, referring entities and business partners. Nurses within the Integrated Call Center utilize the nursing process to provide education and care for individual patients or defined patient populations via the telephone. Telehealth nursing practice involves providing guidance to clients who call regarding health problems or symptoms which concern them. The University of Iowa Health Care Walk-In Clinics is seeking a Weekend Option (WEO) 60% (24 hours a week) Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) to support our Iowa City (Corridor) and Quad Cities Quick Care/Urgent Care locations . Our Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) perform direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services within our Walk-in Clinics. UI Walk-in Clinics provide care to try to save our patients a trip to the emergency room. We’re open evenings, weekends, and even some holidays. Our clinics are responsible to assess a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensures patient care standards are met and provide access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic, including X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. The Iowa River Landing Clinic is seeking a 100% Assistant Nurse Manager to manage direct care nursing functions, assuring that health services, medical care, medical/health professions education, and evidence-based practice research programs are delivered effectively and efficiently. Job Duties Human Resources Management Hiring Assist in hiring nursing unit staff through effective and timely recommendations. Staff Development Develop and manage the talents, strengths and behaviors of assigned staff as directed by Nurse Manager. Assists in matters of promotion, transfers and disciplinary action, as directed by Nurse Manager. Coaches staff to participate in team decision-making and actively seeks participation from assigned staff on decision-making and customer service improvement activities. Provides staff incentives/rewards for contributions towards achievement of service excellence. Performance Management Completes staff evaluations, for assigned staff, on time with written, solid justification. Assure staff members are compliant with competencies, policies, procedures and regulations. Employee Labor Relations Understand and apply appropriately the provisions in the union contracts. Creates an atmosphere which provides for effective recruitment and retention of qualified staff. Financial Management Actively help manage operating expenses for the Procedure and Infusion Suite by monitoring the unit/clinic’s operating budget. Recommend budget ideas, resources and cost containment strategies through participation in the development of the unit operating budget, reviewing staffing plan, reviewing service contracts, planning for new supply costs, etc. Assists the Nurse Manager in developing a staffing plan and is open to creativity in staff scheduling/flexibility. Operations, Standards of Care, Regulatory Compliance, Quality and Patient Satisfaction Collaborate with Nursing Management Team to identify Quality Management and patient satisfaction opportunities for improvement. Incorporates the principles of Service Excellence to ensure positive patient/customer relations. Implement and maintain standards and quality plans. Identifies inefficiencies in current practice/processes, demonstrates tolerance for change and develops a means to enhance the process. Consistently makes sound judgments after gathering factual, objective information. Creates and maintains a workplace of choice/ which motivates employees to work at optimal efficiency; encourages staff to regularly establish goals and objectives toward career development. Engage staff in meeting plan goals. Patient Care/Services Delivery Supervise care delivery and assist in coordinating patient care teams on the unit to maximize customer service and continuity of care. Assists the Nurse Manager in developing flexible staffing and reallocating priorities to ensure optimal patient care. Serve as a resource for patient care problems. May provide some patient care. These nurses will assist the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager.
