The Breast Nurse Navigator coordinates patient care from primary care and imaging services through the multispecialty cancer care team. Responsibilities Imaging Center Responsibilities The nurse navigator shares time between the imaging center and the breast specialty clinic. At the imaging center, key responsibilities include: Collaborating with radiologists during biopsy procedures, including obtaining consent, providing post-procedure care, labeling specimens, and completing follow-up phone calls with patients and referring physicians. Obtaining pathology results and communicating findings to referring physicians and patients, as appropriate.
