Complete room turnover and terminal cleaning activities in compliance with department standards. Utilize downtime effectively by restocking rooms, preparing for upcoming cases, and assisting team members as needed. Demonstrate flexibility in assignments, workload, and scheduling changes. Communication & Team Collaboration Effectively communicate anticipated needs to the circulating nurse and surgical team. Recognize and promptly report emergency situations. Verify specimen identification and disposition with physicians and communicate information appropriately. Communicate schedule changes, delays, or early procedure completion to support efficient room utilization. Report equipment and instrument issues and facilitate repair requests according to policy. Technical Expertise Demonstrate competency in operating and maintaining routine surgical equipment and technology. Assemble and manage specialty instrumentation and equipment, including retractors and powered surgical devices. Assist in evaluating new products, equipment, policies, and procedures. Complete required documentation to support purchasing and process improvement decisions. Stewardship & Operational Excellence Plan, organize, and prioritize work activities effectively.
