Assists provider with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Administers patient medications per provider order and policy including appropriate dosage, route, site, and documentation. Orients, instructs, and trains assigned personnel as applicable. Provides basic patient care as ordered. Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner. Our ED department is equipped with 30 ER beds as well as an 8-bed observation center and 2 triage rooms. The ER staff is made up of RNs, ER Techs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care. Position Summary: The LPN/LVN will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit. Responsibilities Initiates admission database and history, and in collaboration with the RN implements patient and family teaching and care needs. Practices in compliance with all regulatory standards and adheres to all hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties. Performs and prioritizes nursing care tasks. Accurately follows the nursing plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of a RN.
