How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Additional Details We are looking for help on the day shift (6a-2:30p) and evenings (2p-10:30p). Our PRN staff works at least 4 shifts per month. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment. How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. Key Responsibilities Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care. How you make a difference The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Key Responsibilities Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds. Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines. Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals. Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals. Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested. Qualifications & Requirements Education A graduate of an accredited school of nursing An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. How you make a difference The Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing the total health care delivery system in their assigned nursing unit, including the collection and evaluation of health status data, nursing diagnosis, goal setting, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Monitoring nursing service, maintain accurate records, and identify potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed. Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of the unit and maintain appropriate levels of medical equipment and supplies. Maintaining a professional atmosphere and attend monthly staff meetings as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. How you make a difference The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for managing and supervising the nursing staff and operations of the facility to ensure that patients receive appropriate healthcare services. They work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) and other members of the healthcare team to oversee and implement nursing policies and procedures. The ADON also ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff. Key Responsibilities Supervises nursing staff, including performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary action. Evaluates patient care quality and implements improvement initiatives, collaborating with Nurse Managers and DON. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organization policies and procedures. Participates in policy and procedure development and hospital-wide employee orientations. Provides professional nursing care as needed to respond to workload demands or staffing shortages. Qualifications & Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Master’s degree preferred Experience Three (3) years’ experience in psychiatric inpatient setting with an additional two (2) years of supervisory experience. Two (2) years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working exclusively with individuals diagnosed with mental illness or multiple disabilities. Regulatory agency knowledge including The Joint Commission, DHSS, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services is preferred. Experience Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. How you make a difference As a Physician's Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will work under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, and assist the Physician in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population, which includes addressing behavioral health disorders. You will coordinate patient care plans by conducting assessments, developing plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes, all while working collaboratively with the healthcare team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at the agency, local, state, and federal levels. Key Responsibilities • Conduct daily sick call, carry out treatments, and follow standardized procedures and protocols.• Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities.• Perform minor surgical procedures, repair lacerations, and remove sutures.• Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications.• Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.O.A.P.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings.
