MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology, operating room technology or a school of practical nursing or equivalent program required. Basic knowledge to perform arithmetic calculations when maintaining record of charges normally acquired through completion of high school. Approximately three to six months of related experience, preferred, in order to learn sterile techniques, become familiar with anesthesia equipment and cleaning procedures, and learn inventory techniques. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with the surgical team and maintain effective contacts with physicians and hospital employees. Familiarity and manual dexterity required with all basic surgical instruments, supplies, equipment and procedures. Basic analytical skills necessary to develop solutions to problems concerning technical needs of surgery. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when conducting procedures and operating special computer software. BLS-HCP Certification required and/or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional proceduresaccording to USV/FMS policies and procedures. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional proceduresaccording to USV/FMS policies and procedures. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with the maintenance and setting up of the procedure room in compliance with FMCNA/USV policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Stocks procedure room and procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure. Cleans the procedure room including the equipmentand machinery post procedure. May assist with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping. Prepares and administers medications within the scope of practice and state regulations. Performs patient transfers and positioning of patients and transports patient to and from procedure room. Acts as scrub assistant assisting the physician during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy; maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Draws up intravenous medication and labels as per Medication Labeling Policy, and Medication in the Sterile Field Competency. Performs circulating duties in the procedure room. Complies with HIPAA policies and standards in regards to patient confidentiality. Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis Ensures all facility equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before andafter procedures. May perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeep. Communicatesproblems to supervisor and documents issues in the communications log. May assist with instrument sterilization and packaging of surgical instruments. Assists with preparing, organizing, and efficiently utilizing supplies and equipment to prevent wastage. Responsibilities We are actively hiring for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) . Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Responsibilities: Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures. Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas. Assist with post procedure cleaning of the operative or other invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients. Perform all other duties as assigned . Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Requirements: High School Gra duate or equivalent . Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Techn ologist Program . Prior Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred. Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred .
