Common admitting diagnoses include pre and post cardiac catheterizations that require no interventions, congestive heart failure patients, pre and post pacemaker/AICD implantation with suspected or significant potential rhythm disturbances and acute coronary syndrome. Nursing activities include monitoring, rhythm interpretation, fluid and electrolyte monitoring, inotropic therapy, respiratory status, pre/post procedure care, medical management, rehabilitation initiation, and comfort/palliative care measures as indicated. Always partners with the patient and significant others (as appropriate) using such appropriate method for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; just in time and planned patient teaching; keeping the patient and significant others updated and making the patients goals the focus of the plan of care. D. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration A. Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model.
