JOB SUMMARY: A Registered Nurse is a professional who provides patient care based upon the nursing process; being effectively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Nurse actively supports and promotes the Centers Philosophy and mission statement. The Registered Nurse is under the direction of the Administrator. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of one (1) year in operating room experience preferred. Previous ASC experience preferred. Required Licensure and Certification: Has a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State. Current BCLS certification Current PALS certification. Current ACLS certification. CNOR preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the Center. Must demonstrate the knowledge of the principle of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Centers policies and procedures. Basic computer knowledge required. Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co workers, and other health team members. Demonstrates the ability to manage a variety of personality types, effectively maximizing the performance of others. Deals with conflict while preserving relationships. Honors and respects physicians and all co-workers. Promotes a culture of honor. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of basic mathematics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in the nursing process. Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication. NICU RN provides safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to neonates requiring specialized car in a Level II NICU. The nurse is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nursing care for newborns with medical conditions requiring intermediate level neonatal care. The RN will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants and other member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes while providing family centered care.

Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. The RN shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing as evidenced by verification of state licensure. Diploma preferred. Experience: Two years of experience in a hospital or medical environment is preferred. Licenses/Certificates: Current Tennessee or Compact State registered nurse license required. Current BLS and ACLS required. If not ACLS certified on hire, must acquire within 30 days.
