We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Adult Inpatient Unit. This is a 0.6 FTE Evening/Night rotating, 8 hour shifts weekdays/12-hour shift every third weekend Night position. Candidate will be expected to float to Pediatric units. Experience caring for medically complex patients preferred. Benefit Eligible! Purpose of position This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and/or provide skilled assistance in navigation of the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, family-centered nursing care that supports optimal patient outcomes. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Manage between visit patient needs. Care coordination Prepares for clinics through chart prep, which includes review of current and outside records, images, and communication regarding the plan of care for patients. Family centered care - Provides nursing care and health education reflecting specific patient, family, cultural and community needs. Identifies the learning needs of the population served. Implements an effective teaching plan. Provide specialty focused patient education Employs strategies to promote health in a safe environment. Seeks opportunity to evaluate effectiveness of health education as culturally and developmentally appropriate. Adapts to staffing and clinic workflow needs based on patient care needs and availability of staff, space, and services. Autonomous Practice – Exercises independent judgment that influences care and demonstrates understanding of potential clinical implications. Qualifications Required Documentation of completion of professional nursing program (RN program) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment. Must be interested in working with people with short-term or long-term disabilities that begin in childhood Physically able to work hours required and meet physical demands of the position. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field Prior nursing experience in a health-related setting Nursing Specialty Certification relevant to the position (ex.
