Position Summary Functions as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) under the guidance and supervision of an experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Performs routine patient care to the victim/suspect and carries out established nursing procedures for collection of evidence and appropriate chain of custody. Education Hold a current license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred. B. Training And Experience Current BLS. One year of RN experience in acute care setting, pediatrics, and/or women’s health preferred. Completion and Certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner within 18 months of hire through the Office of the Attorney General. Currently In good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners. Must be in good standing with the Office of the Attorney General within 18 months of hire or transfer to department. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within 12 months of hire preferred. Recommended and preferred for training but not required for continued employment as SANE RN.
Qualifications Education:Current Surgical Technologist Certification or eligible Training and Experience: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate through the American Heart Association (AHA) required within ninety (90) days of hire. Successful completion of Hospital and Nursing orientation within three (3) months of hire. Completion of L&D Surgical Technologist competencies within three (3) months of hire or transfer. To include but not limited to: C-Sections Post partum tubal ligation Deliveries High risk deliveries Set up and assistance with procedure VI. C. Preferred Training & Certification Trauma Norse Core Curriculum (TNCC) preferred. CNOR preferred. D. Training & Experience One year of RN experience in acute care setting preferred. EKG course within one year of hire or transfer to department. Moderate sedation competency completed within 3 months of hire or transfer to department. Complete the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer to department. Aseptic technique Gowning and gloving Surgical hand scrub Surgical skin prep Electronic perioperative charting Role of the circulator in surgical case preparation Role of the circulator in preoperative patient assessment Role of the circulator in intraoperative patient care Role of the circulator in postoperative patient care Basic daVinci Robotic Surgery proficiency-within 1 year for new hires; within 2 years of signing job description for tenured staff.
