Caregiver/Companion

Help Seniors stay home save! Male client requesting caregiver assistance with personal care. Client preference is for a male caregiver. Job Overview: This position requires hands-on caregiving experience , as the clients will need direct personal care assistance, including physical support with daily activities. The Caregiver will also provide companionship and socialization with guidance to assure a protected environment. The Caregiver will follow the care plan provided and promote quality, continuity and safety of our clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Caregiver/Companion includes, but are not limited to the following: Hands-on caregiving. This role involves direct, physical care and assistance with daily activities. Provides companionship by reading, conversation, and listening. Participates in appropriate recreational activities and hobbies for social and sensory stimulation. Assists client in completing necessary phone calls, letter writing, etc. Maintains a safe home environment for the client. Accompanies client on walks, community trips, doctor’s office, bank, etc. Informs Agency Manager/Care Designer of any changes in assignment. Provides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-being. May prepare meals. May perform light housework and laundering of clothing to maintain a clean, neat environment. Assists in the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment. Grocery shopping with or without a client. Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly. Education And/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent preferred. Training in the topics related to human development and interpersonal relationships, nutrition, shopping, food storage, use of equipment and supplies, planning and organizing of household tasks and principals of cleanliness and safety. Clean driving record Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively with patient/client, family members, clinical management, and staff. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Homemaker/Companion Job Description Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Communication skills, light housekeeping skills, cooking, cleaning, and shopping. Caring attitude, tact, patience, and good personal hygiene. Physical Demands The work requires light physical exertion on a regular and recurring basis such as: driving and light housekeeping. Registered Nurse (RN)

TITLE OF POSITION: Registered Nurse (RN) Home Health **Looking for experience with wound care, potential for management, must have leadership skills, and experience in home health & case management! SIGN-ON BONUS: $500 upon hire and $1,500 after 3 months of employment. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The registered nurse is responsible for quality; adequacy of services provided and may, where required, supervise staff. The registered nurse is responsible for ensuring that care is delivered appropriately and the standards of quality are adhered to. The registered nurse is responsible for working with other medical disciplines (i.e., PT, OT, ST) to ensure coordinated services and that all the client’s needs are identified through the assessment process and addressed through the implementation of the Plan of Care and re-evaluation and supervisory process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provides care and procedures as defined within the scope of nursing practice and State regulations. If directed by the Director of Nursing/Supervising Nurse, conducts the initial evaluation visit and regularly revaluates the client’s nursing needs. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions, keeping the Director of Nursing/Supervising Nurse updated on the revisions. Provides those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Prepares clinical and progress notes and summaries of care. Informs the Director of Nursing/Supervising Nurse, physician and other personnel of changes in the client’s condition and needs. Counsel the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs. Assists in the development of organization goals. Administers agency policies and procedures. Assists the Director of Nursing with assessing the competency of clinical staff to promote quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care. Supervises, educates and coaches other nursing personnel, as directed by the Director of Nursing/Supervising Nurse. Provides information to be used for statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities. Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with provincial and federal laws. Assures compliance with all state and federal laws. Identifies and participates in agency performance improvement activities. Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care. Share information with appropriate organization personnel. Promotes home health referrals in the health care community. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Current license and in good standing with the State Board of Nursing in the State of Idaho. Minimum two-three years of clinical experience with at least half of that time working in home care or related health care organization. Wound care certification preferred IV certification preferred Travel required. Ability to travel daily including weekends, nights and holidays ENVIRONMENT, PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS Environment: Contact with clients under a wide variety of circumstances. Care provided in client’s living environment with varying situations or in an institution such as a hospital. May be required to respond to emergency situations. Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues. Personal Protective Equipment: May include gloves, mask, eye/face protection, and disposable outer covering or lab coat. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the ability of the client. New hires will receive a $250 bonus after successfully completing three months of employment with the company.
