Salary:The salary for this position traditionally starts at $109,304.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. A Day in the Life: Program Administration Support Maintain accurate records to reflect and assume accountability for clinical decisions and actions. Provide consultation through collaboration with a variety of health care professionals. Develop educational programs for individuals and groups appropriate to health problems, level of functioning, emotional needs, and patient characteristics. Program Management Support Obtain patient health histories, exams, and establish diagnoses. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform indicated procedures and therapeutic/corrective measures. Refer patients to appropriate health care providers. Prescribe medication and treatment within practice guidelines. Provide initial emergency care such as CPR and alert appropriate emergency providers. Research & Clinical Advancement Lead and direct nursing staff in the design, coordination, and evaluation of research to improve clinical practice and delivery of health care. Direct or participate in the oversight and application of quality research assurance projects. What You'll Need for Success: Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following: Specialized knowledge of, and ability to utilize, the full range of accepted professional nursing principles and practices within in-patient care. Working knowledge of psychology relative to handling and caring for mentally disabled individuals and those with abnormal mental and behavioral patterns as provided in nursing education.Possess a high degree of skill in providing patient care and reacting effectively in emergency situations. Ability to develop and apply nursing care plans and provide guidance to staff nurses. Ability to apply conceptual theory-based knowledge to manage health care status and assure optimal care. Ability to interpret diagnostic studies and clinical data to inform treatment decisions. Ability to effectively communicate and interpret, give, and follow directions. Ability to communicate with individuals regarding medical and nursing procedures and conditions. A graduate‑level degree in nursing from an accredited institution, a current Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of Indiana, and valid DEA and Indiana CSR registrations.Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. About Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center: The Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center (EPCC) takes an interdisciplinary approach that provides strategies for the child’s biological, psychological and social treatment at the same time. All of our staff go through many hours of training to each play their important part in the approach. Youth are learning by two main methods, modeling and teaching, through therapeutic relationships established with the treatment staff. A Day in the Life: Program Administration Support Prioritize and organize the daily care of individuals to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. Make care assignments and assist in creating treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff to meet individual needs. Provide orientation and support to staff and to the unit to maintain continuity and quality of care. Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems to the Charge Nurse Supervisor to ensure smooth operations. Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records to maintain accurate and timely reporting. Program Management Support Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of individuals' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge to inform care decisions. Administer medications and treatments according to state-operated health care facility policies and procedures to support recovery and wellness. Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff to ensure compliance and quality.
