POSITION SUMMARY: The Wound Care Coordinator reports to and receives general direction from the Director of Nursing and is responsible for delivering quality wound care and preventative measures to maintain skin integrity to assigned residents in compliance with applicable federal and state guidelines and established policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Utilizes the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents wound and skin integrity • Collecting and documentation of residents’ skin status including medical history. • Wound care prevention and prevention through plan of care • Sets priorities for nursing action for wound care and prevention • Communicates with physicians regarding resident wound needs • Initiates nutritional interventions to ensure that residents with wounds are provided nutrition to promote wound healing. • Performs direct resident care utilizing established procedure, policies, and standards • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with the physician’s orders • Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each residents while performing treatments • Communicates and interacts effectively, courteously, and tactfully with residents, visitors, family members, peers, and supervisors • Conducts rounds frequently to ensure that residents with incontinence are receiving pericare and preventative ointments timely. Discipline non-compliant staff accordingly with consultation from the DON • Performs duties in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures • Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves and proper disposal of soiled material EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 1. $85,000 salary!!! JOB SUMMARY: Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, directing and evaluating services and activities of the Nursing Department. Work harmoniously with other departments and disciplines to meet facility goals while ensuring a holistic and rehabilitative approach in assisting each Resident to attain maximal independence. Accept supervisory responsibility of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Establish and implement objectives and standards for the Nursing Department in compliance with the current requirements of regulatory agencies. Evaluate and monitor Resident rounds, observation of care rendered. Ensure sufficient and efficient staffing levels through training and the personnel process to meet the Resident needs daily on a shift-to-shift basis. Ascertain that accurate communications regarding significant changes in the status of Residents are expediently routed to designated physicians and family members/legal guardian. Establish effective rapport with facility staff, members of healthcare team, managerial support, Residents, family members and visitors. Implement standards of care, policies and procedures Work the floor when necessary Conduct monthly Consultant Compliance internal self-audits of Quality Indicators using designed audit tools. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Unencumbered, active RN license in the state of Arkansas. Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year experience recommended). Duties and Responsibilities: The safe and efficient operation of assigned motor vehicle Extensive contact with patients/ residents of a nursing home facility Assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory individuals enter and leave the vehicle Ensuring that passengers are safely seated inside the motor vehicle Securing residents’ mobility devices such as walkers and wheelchairs Keeping a record of each bus trip and the residents who attended Documenting the mileage and time for each bus trip Performing preventive maintenance functions such as checking lights, maintaining fluid levels, checking tire pressure, etc. and notifying supervisory personnel of need for further service or repair Requirements: Basic knowledge of methods and techniques used to load, secure, and unload passengers from a motor vehicle Skill in the operation and basic maintenance of assigned motor vehicle Ability to find geographic locations Ability to follow oral/ written instructions and keep a record of activities Ability to lift, maneuver, and support materials of up to 80 pounds Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents and staff Possession of a valid driver’s license Experience: Six to 12 months of work experience operating, loading, and unloading a motor vehicle Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities stated above Experience working with individuals with disabilities or experience working in long term care a plus Benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off
