Job Responsibilities

Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks)
Planning and managing routine patient care in acute facilities
Monitoring patient vital signs and recording documents in a timely manner
Evaluating the wellbeing of patients and reporting any needs to medical staff
Maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of each patient, including bathing, feeding, and dressing
Assisting nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication
Changing dressings and bandages, ensuring patients are healing properly
Moving patients to and from wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers
Monitoring urinary and other drainage catheters
Updating patient records in a confidential manner
Explaining treatments and procedures to patients and families
Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans

Qualifications and Skills

Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for Virginia
Completion of all state required training and/or state-sanctioned competency examination
6 months of LPN experience
Immunizations as required
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
BLS certification from the AHA
