Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Urology

Overview

Community Health Partners is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established urology practice. The APP will join two urologists that specialize in treating a variety of urologic conditions. 

 

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) maintains responsibility for providing clinical care in general or specialty area(s). Assesses, plans and provides patient care in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary healthcare team. Provides comprehensive assessments, performs medical diagnosis, writes prescriptions and formulates treatment plans. Diagnoses medical conditions, plans and implements interventions, ensures patient safety, and contributes to quality and regulatory activities. The APP will also assist in any capacity with basic urologic procedures in addition to assisting the physicians with their procedures. The position will be a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Accountabilities

 

1. Provides direct assessment, evaluation and primary patient care, complying with medical protocols and procedures.2. Provides direct patient management in collaboration with physicians; participates in daily rounds, patient assessments and care plan development.3. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's healthcare needs. Furnishes medications based upon written protocols.4. Ensures that patients are counseled regarding treatment plans and the use, dosage and possible side effects of medications.5. Makes referrals to appropriate providers when patients require subspecialty medical attention beyond the area's scope of service.6. Documents and maintains precise and complete records of patients.7. Distinguishes between normal and abnormal findings.8. Provides education, training, information and consultation services to interdisciplinary team, patients, family and caregivers.9. Participates in quality assurance activities, including assistance in development and implementation of new policies and procedures, recommends updates to current policy as needed.10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education• Completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required• Credentialed by the CMC Medical Staff Office as an Allied Health Professional and privileged to perform Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Standardized Procedures required

 

Experience• 2 years of clinical experience in the area of specialty preferred

Job Description The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse Practitioner is a highly skilled clinician who provides expert procedural and clinical care throughout the interventional radiology patient experience, including pre-procedural evaluation, intra-procedural support, and post-procedural management.
