Qualifications of the Nurse Practitioner:

Ability to work independently across contracted facilities.

This APRN/PA will function independently and collaboratively to provide specialty medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years participating in Clinical Research Trials. The incumbent will coordinate, implement and complete clinical research studies or clinical trials by assisting with IRB submissions, assisting in regulatory document preparation and collection, in-servicing research teams, recruiting study participants, obtaining parental permission/assent, educating parents/participants, scheduling and conducting study procedures/examinations, collecting and recording study data, maintaining study records, interfacing with study sponsors, participation in sponsor study monitoring visits. The Nemours Fetal Care Center and Advanced Delivery Unit are expanding the scope of service to include comprehensive prenatal, obstetrical and postpartum care for women whose unborn child has been diagnosed with a birth defect or complex medical condition that will require immediate multidisciplinary pediatric care in the neonatal period. In addition to currently available prenatal imaging to diagnose these conditions, we are also expanding invasive diagnostics and fetal intervention procedures. The NFCC-APP will work with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, Obstetricians and the entire multidisciplinary team to provide full scope maternal care including prenatal care, postpartum care, inpatient care, assist in fetal procedures in the outpatient setting and in the operating room, and assessment of fetal well-being. In this role, the qualified NFCC-APP will play an integral role in the care and support of these patients throughout their high-risk pregnancy journey into the postpartum period.
