The Nemours Cardiac Center of the Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware is looking for a qualified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Inpatient Telemetry Cardiac Center! This role is a full-time nocturnist role, including weekend, and holiday availability.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Cardiac Inpatient Telemetry Unit plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic environment. In collaboration with physicians, APPs, consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the APP will provide specialized care to critically ill cardiac patients.
This role requires comprehensive care for cardiac surgical patients during both the pre-operative and post-operative periods as well as providing care for non-surgical patients. The APP is required to perform medical histories and physical exams as well as interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing data to inform clinical decisions. Additionally, the APP will be required to develop and implement patient care management plans, including prescribing medications and other medical therapies.
This role is a full-time nocturnist role, including weekend, and holiday availability. Applicants should be highly motivated to join a high-functioning multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Essential Responsibilities
- Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.
- Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission and appropriately documents history and physical exam data.
- Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Collaborates interprofessionally as needed. Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
- Documents patient care and progress on patient's chart.
- Provides patient/family teaching based on identification of learning needs.
- Acts as a patient's advocate.
- Acts as a role model to other members of the Patient Care Services Department to foster professional development.
- Acts as a liaison between families and members of the health care team.
- Promotes standards of care for the specialty area.
