Serenity Hospice Care is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care with dignity and respect. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team and support our mission of excellence in hospice care.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) and Clinical Director in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding nursing staff in delivering high-quality, compassionate hospice care. This role requires a balance of leadership, clinical expertise, and organizational skills.

 

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday 8:30A-4:30P

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily clinical operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring adherence to hospice standards of care.
  • Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and care delivery to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Participate in staff training, education, and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and coordination of interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff, patients, and families.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in audits/reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey (required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year hospice REQUIRED.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
