Role Description We are looking for a results oriented field based Manager of Clinical Health Services with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel. The ideal field-based Manager of Clinical Health Services executes quarterly objectives and long-term goals to ensure the successful recruitment, retention and engagement of our clinical team members (Nurse / Medical Assistant / Phlebotomists) throughout the region they support, consistent with Oak Street Health’s mission. This individual collaborates with stakeholders regionally and centrally, including the central Sr. Manager of Clinical Health Services, to ensure alignment on initiatives, clear priorities, and consistent communication throughout the region, in order to achieve targets. The field-based Manager of Clinical Health Services plays an integral role in the field Leadership Team of their respective region to ensure all aspects of the business are aligned with quality nursing care, optimal patient outcomes, and excellent patient experience. Responsibilities: In collaboration with the central Sr. Manager of Clinical Health Services, and the local regional leadership team, align on a plan to achieve quarterly and annual nursing goals in accordance with regional targets in patient care, quality, and experience. Support the care team nurses with achieving these goals, to meet Oak Street Health’s high standards of patient care. In partnership with local leaders, support the recruitment and hiring of clinical staff, hiring for fit to our values, mission, and promote team diversity to ensure staff are reflective of the communities we serve, while developing a strong pipeline particularly for new centers. In partnership with the centralized training function, ensure consistent and comprehensive onboarding for new care team Nurses/ MAs/ Phlebotomists. In collaboration with nursing leadership, support the development of and own the local execution of ongoing nursing development opportunities including but not limited to nursing grand rounds, specialized training programs, and annual clinical competencies. Directly manages regionally-allocated MA and RN preceptors Prioritize clinical team member retention by creating an engaging culture that inspires commitment and encourages excellence and strives for equity and inclusion. Remain knowledgeable of industry standards and state regulations, and monitor and review best practices as necessary. Advise the regional and central nursing leadership teams about performance, and opportunities to improve care outcomes, quality, experience, and employee engagement. Collaborate with Central and Regional Leadership in implementation of clinical operational standards and processes to streamline operations and patient flow. Work with the clinical and leadership team to implement and execute new clinical services and programs, including addressing gaps and providing feedback on program improvement. Leverage central policies and procedures, and refine locally as needed, for improvement of patient flow and safety. Ensure the patient safety program goals and standards are executed consistently in the supported centers. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Current license to practice as a registered nurse. Bachelor degree in nursing strongly preferred; Advanced degree preferred. US Work Authorization. Minimum of 3 years nursing experience. 5 years management experience preferred. Somebody who embodies being “Oaky” (see below). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment: a. Initiate a nursing assessment of patient’s condition upon admission. b. Job Responsibilities The Staff Nurse, Acute inpatient Rehab services, is a Nurse that provides direct nursing care to patients with temporary, progressive or permanent physical disabilities, trauma and or chronic illness. Create and implement a written plan of care that addresses the specific needs and goals of each individual patient, making referrals to other professional services as required. Modifies the plan of care based on reassessment of the patient including observed patient response to treatment/care and evaluation of patient's progress toward goal completion and delegates tasks to team members, as appropriate within their scope of practice. Observe, document, address, and implement planned interventions/care, communicating the plan to all members of the team through accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and, when needed, through verbal reports. Documents accurate patient information in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Provide patient care through the performance of selective procedures that include but are not limited to IV starts and restarts, blood administration and phlebotomy tasks, answering call lights and serving as testing personnel under CLIA1988 regulations as they relate to point of care testing. Maintains knowledge of medication actions and side effects, recognizing allergic reactions and documenting patients’ response to drugs.
