The Nurse Practitioner will assist the surgeons and Bariatric Department in all aspects of care during preparation for and follow-up after weight loss surgery. The NP will implement workflows, policies, procedures, and best practices ensuring integrated services and care coordination. The candidate will also be working with Pain Management department, as well as Bariatrics.

Requirements:

Certification/Licensure:

NYS Professional Registered Nurse license required.

NYS Nurse Practitioner Certification required.

Education requirements:

BSN required

MSN required

Computer/Equipment skills:

Athena Health or a similar electronic medical records system is required.

Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management via 30-minute follow-up visits, using psychotherapy add-on codes to support quality therapeutic engagement beyond the medication check. Complete thorough biopsychosocial intake evaluations, incorporating psychiatric history, medical history, psychosocial functioning, family systems, cultural context, and relevant environmental factors. Conduct risk assessments related to suicidality, self-harm, harm to others, abuse, neglect, and safety concerns, and initiate appropriate clinical interventions when indicated.
