Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care during bus transportation for a wheelchair-dependent and non-verbal student from Medford, MA to a school site in Chestnut Hill, MA
  • Conduct ongoing clinical assessments and monitor the students airway, seizure activity, and comfort throughout transport
  • Manage medical equipment including oxygen saturation and heart rate monitors, suction machine, emergency oxygen tank, and anticonvulsant medications
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing assessments and interventions
  • Collaborate closely with the students classroom nurse, family members, and health services supervisor to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing, especially with medically complex students such as those who are non-verbal or wheelchair-dependent
  • Ability to provide compassionate, detail-oriented nursing care in a transport setting
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with caregivers and school personnel

Location Details:

  • Position based around transportation routes between Medford and Chestnut Hill, MA
  • Close proximity to Malden, Somerville, and Arlington, MA for potential commuting convenience
