In this unique position, youll work one-on-one with a bright 12-year-old student in 5th grade, providing essential trach care, oxygen support, and assistance with mobility and communication. The schedule follows the school calendar (Monday-Friday, about 7am2:30/3pm), plus extended school year (ESY) dates, and includes supporting the student both in their home and riding the bus together. Candidates must be comfortable with flexibility, as the student may be out for extended periods.

Qualifications:

  • Current Ohio RN license required
  • Experience with trach and ventilator care
  • Previous pediatric or school-based nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to provide respectful, compassionate care
  • Must be comfortable with intermittent absences when the student is not attending school

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care to a 5th grade student
  • Monitor and manage tracheostomy and ventilator needs
  • Administer oxygen and provide mobility support
  • Support communication via eye-gazing
  • Accompany the student to and from school on the bus
  • Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the educational team
