  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the daily activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The LPN ensures that all nursing care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and established standards of care.

The LPN works closely with the Director of Nursing and Nurse Supervisors to maintain high-quality resident care and promote a safe, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with their care plans and medical needs.

  • Administer medications and treatments while verifying resident identity and following established safety protocols.

  • Supervise and guide nursing assistants to ensure quality resident care.

  • Monitor residents' conditions and promptly report changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and provide recommendations regarding staffing, transfers, and other personnel matters.

  • Assist with determining shift staffing needs and coordinating daily nursing assignments.

  • Welcome newly admitted residents and assist with their room assignments and admission process.

  • Help orient new residents and their families to facility policies, procedures, and services.

  • Participate in developing and conducting staff in-service training and educational programs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote resident dignity, comfort, and overall well-being.
