Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the delivery of all nursing services, including staffing, scheduling, and budget management

• Acts as liaison between the Administrator and nursing services, ensuring open communication and collaboration

• Reviews State of Massachusetts inspection reports, initiates corrective actions, and monitors results

• Develops and updates nursing policies and procedures, ensuring ongoing quality of care

• Maintains professional contacts within the local community, representing the facility during interactions with residents, families, and other healthcare providers

• Assists the Administrator in planning facility goals and objectives

• Assumes administrative responsibilities in the Administrator's absence

• Ensures licensure and accreditation requirements are met, documents professional licenses, and calculates staffing levels for the nursing services department

• Coordinates activities with other facility departments, maintains written position descriptions, and updates as needed

• Interviews, selects, and appoints nursing services personnel, interprets facility policies, and ensures implementation

• Conducts yearly written evaluations, documents disciplinary concerns, and makes regular rounds to ensure optimal quality of care

• Reports critical employee relations issues, complaints, or unresolved grievances to the Administrator and reports resident care issues to the Medical Director as appropriate

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Massachusetts

• Minimum of three years of additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and one year of nursing services administration

• CPR certified

• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions

• Fluency in word processing (including Microsoft Office) and other office equipment

• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment

• Haverhill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is a 24-hour skilled nursing facility providing sub-acute, long-term care, and short-term rehabilitation to residents
