LPN School Contract

A contract opportunity is open for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide 1:1 support for a 7-year-old female student in an elementary school setting. This role includes assisting her throughout her day, including riding the bus to and from school, and supporting her in all aspects of personal care and participation in school activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current LPN/LVN license
  • Experience working in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
  • Proficient in G-tube and tracheostomy care, with a strong ability to respond to related health needs
  • Comfortable performing lifting and transfers, including two-person transfer methods
  • Familiarity with the use of adaptive mobility aids, such as a stroller or wheelchair
  • Ability to provide full support for diapering and personal hygiene needs
  • Experience with non-verbal students and AAC devices is a plus
  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the complex needs of medically fragile children

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 nursing care and supervision to a 7-year-old student during the entire school day
  • Ride the school bus with the student, assisting during pick up at 9:00 a.m. and drop-off at 4:21 p.m.
  • Support transfers using mechanical aids and two-person techniques for safety
  • Manage and monitor G-tube feedings and tracheostomy care
  • Provide diapering and hygiene care using an adjustable changing table
  • Facilitate communication and daily activities, supporting engagement and access to learning
