LPN School Contract

Key Qualifications:

  • Current LPN/LVN license in Washington
  • Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
  • Skilled in G-tube and tracheostomy care
  • Familiarity with adaptive equipment (wheelchairs/strollers)
  • Ability to safely provide lifts and transfers, including two-person transfers
  • Comfortable with full support for diapering tasks, utilizing adjustable changing tables
  • Patience and adaptability to work with non-verbal students; experience with AAC devices a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach with families and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive 1:1 care throughout the school day for a student with complex medical needs
  • Ride the bus with the student, assisting with pickup at 9:00am and drop off at 4:21pm
  • Support safe transport using an adaptive stroller and ensure transfers are conducted safely
  • Oversee trach and G-tube management, monitoring for any medical needs and responding appropriately
  • Engage with the student using alternative communication methods and support her learning environment
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene routines, and daily living activities with respect and dignity
