Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a CNA Clinical Instructor (RN) at Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, a long and short-term care facility providing compassionate and skilled nursing care for over four decades. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for implementing our nurse aide training program, teaching clinical and classroom instruction, and evaluating student performance. Essential Functions:
• Teach a lesson plan for the Nurse Aide Training Program that combines classroom and clinical training for at least 100 hours
• Conduct interviews with applicants to determine eligibility for acceptance into the program
• Schedule class dates and times in cooperation with the Staff Development Coordinator and Program Coordinator
• Assist in teaching the Nurse Aide Certification course
• Coordinate students' clinical and classroom experiences within the facility
• Complete each nurse aide trainee's performance record of major duties and skills learned and demonstrated
• Facilitate Clinical Skills Evaluator/Nurse Aide Evaluator nurse aide competency evaluations as scheduled
• Participate in departmental meetings to assess and coordinate nurse aide training
• Provide clinical and classroom instruction
• Schedule additional healthcare personnel to supplement instruction and provide specialized training
Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nursing licensure in New York
• A minimum of 2 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrates competency to teach adult learners, as evidenced and documented by at least one of the following:
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with residents, families, staff, and the publicMinimum 1-year experience in Long Term Care
