RN Wound Care Nurse (Full-time)

Full-Time | Shift: 8am - 4:30 pm shift  / alternate weekend

We are seeking a dedicated Wound Nurse (RN) to oversee and implement the facility’s Wound Prevention and Treatment Program. This role works closely with Unit Managers, the Staff Development Coordinator, and the Wound Care Team to ensure high-quality wound prevention, treatment, and staff education.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative & Clinical Functions

  • Assess skin condition of all new admissions using standardized assessment tools

  • Collaborate with the Wound Care Team to determine appropriate prevention and treatment plans

  • Obtain physician orders for wound treatment modalities

  • Implement wound treatment plans as assigned by the Director of Nursing

  • Accurately document all wound treatments and ensure consistency in documentation

  • Complete weekly wound summaries

  • Educate nursing staff on wound prevention principles

  • Respect residents’ rights regarding choice, consent, and refusal of treatment

  • Consult with Unit Managers and Social Workers when needed to ensure compliance with facility policies and State and Federal regulations

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • Current RN or LPN license (required)

  • Minimum of one (1) year of wound care experience

  • Wound Care Certification (preferred)

Education Training and Experience RN BSN with 3 year minimum experience, Wound Care Certification preferred. Medical Surgical, home health, or Emergency Services, also preferred. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support), infections control, safety and all unit required skill review. Also, must be willing to attain training in Hyperbaric Medicine by an approved UHMS 40hour Course. Licensure/Certification Current PA RN license.
