Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Practice Nurse will be responsible for: providing high quality patient care to the patients of OSF OnCall Urgent Care. Maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided. Maintaining full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by the provider or other support staff. Exercising diligence in assisting the OSF CEO in keeping costs of the practice to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients. Providing a truly personalized, patient-centric experience to all patients of OSF OnCall Urgent Care. This position requires floating to various facilities.

Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39-73.68

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master’s degree Licensure/ Certification: IL Advanced Prac Nurse, IL Registered Nurse License, BLS Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Experience as an APN

Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider for Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Night Advanced Practice Provider Team. Sign on Bonus Up to $10,000.00 and Relocation Package Available As an Advanced Practice Provider, you are responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management in the hospital setting, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced academic medical center environment. The night shift Advanced Practice Provider covers three inpatient services: Inpatient Leukemia, Inpatient Cellular Therapy, and Inpatient Chemotherapy . These services are all APP-staffed services which each have the support of a Hematology/Oncology Fellow and Hematology/Oncology Attending. After an orientation period on both days and nights, the APP will work independently and autonomously on the Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Night APP Team. At night, the APP will be responsible for managing established inpatients and admitting patients appropriate for the services. The APP will be trained to manage oncologic emergencies such as neutropenic fever, tumor lysis syndrome, and cytokine release syndrome. The APP will always have the fellow and attending as resources, although they will not be in house at night. Optimal staffing at night is 2-3 APPs covering all three services per night. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. APP Job Summary: The Nurse practitioner/physician assistant is an APP responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management. The APP manages a caseload of patients and exercises autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The scope of practice also includes family support, teaching, staff education, consultation, and research. APP: Provide comprehensive care to patients in the inpatient settings cared for by the APPs of the cardiac and vascular surgery ICU and stepdown units. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, using advanced clinical skills to manage a caseload of patients. Assess, diagnose, initiate delegated medical treatments, perform independent nursing interventions, and evaluate care. Provide a model of care that is shaped by theory, expanded by science, research and reflective practice and is identified by a holistic and comprehensive approach to the patients.
