Make a meaningful impact by providing essential care as a one-on-one nurse for a student with complex medical needs. This contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate RN or LPN/LVN seeking a role where their expertise truly matters. You'll support a student who is non-verbal, wheelchair-bound, and has a seizure disorder during daily transport to and from school.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am–9:00 am for the morning bus ride, then resume at 2:30 pm–4:30 pm for afternoon pickup.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license in Massachusetts
- Previous school nursing or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong background in seizure management and emergency response
- Comfortable assisting with non-verbal and mobility-impaired students
- Current CPR certification
- Reliable transportation to commute for split shift hours
Role Responsibilities:
- Monitor the student’s health and safety during bus rides
- Administer necessary medications or interventions if a seizure occurs
- Communicate any medical concerns to the appropriate school personnel and parents/guardians
- Support the student with transfers to and from the wheelchair as needed
- Ensure a calm, reassuring presence and attend to the student's individual needs throughout transport
