The Willows at Ramapo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department while ensuring the highest standards of quality care, regulatory compliance, and staff support.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing nursing department operations
  • Support and supervise nursing staff to ensure quality resident care and compliance with facility policies
  • Monitor clinical practices to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluating nursing personnel
  • Conduct clinical rounds and address resident care concerns promptly
  • Assist with infection control, quality assurance, and risk management initiatives
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes

Description The Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) for Cardiac Operating Rooms provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for adult and pediatric cardiac surgical services. This role is accountable for nursing practice oversight, staffing strategy, case flow, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care. The ADN partners closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, nursing leadership, and support services to optimize patient outcomes, service efficiency, and staff development. The role requires strong clinical expertise in adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, demonstrated leadership in managing complex teams, and the ability to lead positive changes in a high-acuity, high-reliability environment. The Associate Director of Nursing is responsible for the management and oversight of nursing practice for assigned clinical areas.
